Duties Of A Dental Receptionist

Like most receptionist positions, a dental receptionist job is considered an entry-level job. In general, many employers require only a high school diploma for the applicants and no experience may be necessary. However, a certificate obtained from enrolling in a dental receptionist course, training, and some experience can give you an edge over the other candidates.
Dental receptionist duties include greeting people as they arrive at the dental clinic, assisting clients, scheduling appointments, bill and process payments, and a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, like answering the phone, taking messages, contacting patients, keeping patient files up-to-date, basic accounting, etc.
In order to be qualified for the job, you must have excellent communication skills, know how to fill up forms accurately, basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, email, etc.), knows how to interact with different types of people, works well with other members of the team, multi-tasker, and must be well-organized.
