And how does a medical receptionist achieve this? First and foremost, by being friendly and accommodating to incoming patients. Maintaining a veneer of professionalism while being approachable is very important considering that people coming to the clinic are in various states of emotions; some are anxious, some are scared, and some are even angry. Thus they need a person who is compassionate and attentive to their needs. And the person that they often go to is the medical receptionist. Putting people at ease can surely be a challenging job.
